MiceTracking
The implant for health data acquisition and animal welfare monitoring in medical research.

The MiceTracking System
MiceTracking™ is a comprehensive data acquisition solution used in medical and behavioral research for animal health and welfare monitoring. The system consists of subcutaneous implants integrating multiple sensors, reading platforms (antenna matrix or single-antenna reader) placed under the animals' living or testing cage, sensors and actuators positioned in the cage, as well as a software application that displays and extracts all the data.
With the implants and platforms, veterinarians and researchers can track the individual behavior of animals in real-time and collect physiological and phenotypic data for each animal. The sensors integrated into the cage complement the implant data by assessing the animals' immediate environment (e.g., gas, temperature, light, etc.). The programmable actuators allow researchers to combine a wide range of tests and Stimuli/Rewards.

By enabling precise observation without physical constraints for the animal, MiceTracking™ proudly unites 'Research + Animal Welfare' and aligns its technology with the 3Rs principle: Replace, Reduce, and Refine. MiceTracking™ is particularly designed for breeding facilities, animal housing units, and laboratories.
MiceTracking compatible with other measurement solutions!
Finally, MiceTracking technology serves as a complementary solution to other measurement methods such as video tracking and infrared technology. The data collected or processed by MiceTracking (temperature, PPG, ECG, etc.) can be synchronized with data from other systems, allowing you to establish correlations.

How does the MiceTracking system work?
01.
Implant injection: A subcutaneous micro-laboratory
The implant is injected under the animal's skin. Its sensors continuously measure health data (physiological, biological, phenotypic) and allow behavior monitoring without restricting the animal’s movements.
02.
Data reading by the platform
The reading platform is placed under the cage. It captures real-time data from implants and sensors and transmits commands to the actuators. It also tracks the position of each animal via an antenna network.
03.
Programmed actuators and sensors inside the cage
You position the actuators and sensors inside the cage. The sensors measure parameters related to the animals and the cage environment. The actuators, programmed via SoftLab, execute stimuli and provide rewards.
04.
Data storage, analysis, and export
All data is transmitted in real-time and stored on our secure servers. Data can be analyzed and observed via your SoftLab client account using various tools (.csv export, real-time curve display, etc.).
The Advantages of MiceTracking
Continuous monitoring with the micro-implant
The micro-laboratory implant continuously measures each animal’s health parameters (e.g., temperature, activity, PPG, ECG, etc.). You can monitor your animals' health data in real-time, 24/7.
Comprehensive multi-measurement health environment
Our technology (implants, platforms, actuators, and sensors) provides a global and scalable system for collecting medical and behavioral data.
Improved animal welfare
Thanks to the micro-size of the injectable MiceTracking™ implant, stress related to handling and measurements is minimized. This significantly benefits animal welfare and enhances data quality.
SoftLab: Real-time management and analysis
SoftLab is the software platform that allows you to visualize and analyze the data collected by the implant and the matrix. It provides real-time monitoring of your animals' health and behavior.
eHealth Passport and Calibrations
The eHealth passport enables personalized tracking of each animal. You can freely write and consult your specifications. Sensor calibrations are recorded within the implant.
